Baby update.... again?! No way!

Another baby update so soon?! Crazy!

Well, we had another doctor appointment today. It went very very well! We were very worried because they couldn't get one of the pictures of the heart that they needed. If they didn't have the picture, we couldn't deliver at Jefferson and it was starting to really bum me out. Well, even though our little girl moves more than any ultrasound tech has ever seen a baby move ( according to 3 different techs), we got the picture! Her heart is perfect according to the specialist, which is awesome. They also did an intense brain scan which was perfect. All I can say is... nothing compares to worrying about your baby! You basically spend every second thinking of worst case scenarios instead of best case. We got a few more pictures of her today. She's pretty stinking adorable. Well, I'm going to stop writing before I reread this and realize how boring I sound.

Finding hobbies....

I'm SO bored! Honestly, I always dreamed about how cool it'd be to be a stay at home wife... but I'm losing it. I've worked for the past 10 years so not working is making me go a little stir crazy. I really don't miss waking up at 4:30am... but it's weird to have only a few days a week with something to do.
My dad has always been a "survivalist", so I've kind of made that my new hobby. I've learned to make things instead of buying them which I'm actually really enjoying, plus saving a lot of money.

My issue is that I lose interest quickly. like blogging.. I want to blog so I can read back and see what I was doing with my life, but it's just so boring. Also, I'm becoming a little bit of a recluse. Not all the time.. sometimes I go to town and spend the day with friends, but I live in the middle of the woods and can easily go an entire day without seeing or hearing another person(other than phone calls of FB...). I look out my window and see... birds. And trees. Occasionally bears or raccoons. I spend time with  my dogs, but walking down the road is boring and walking down the trail is a little lonely. I heard some coyotes a few nights ago... which was about the most exciting thing that's happened to me. I spend a lot of time setting things on my belly and watching my baby kick them off. It's pretty interesting. Anyways, I've done my civil duty of blogging. I'll be able to read back in a few months and see how bored I was. Woooohooo.

Baby!

August 23, 2013
Week 17
I've been neglecting doing this for a long time... but here we go!
Baby is the size of an onion..  which is huge! I can't wait to see more pictures of it. We heard the heartbeat today which was fun. The morning sickness is slowing down a tiiny bit but it still sucks.
my sister sent us a baby name book a few days ago so we've picked a few names. It seems like kind of a big deal so I usually just go drown my fears with food whenever I think about it.
Well that's all for now. Pregnancy is boring.

1 year anniversary trip!

day 1(may 10)
Since I blogged every day of our honeymoon, I thought I would for our one year anniversary trip too.
We arrived in Cannon Beach, OR, last night around 9:30 to our bed n breakfast style suite, called "the best room in the house". We checked at the actual hotel and then drove a block down the road. We went into a litttle adorable courtyard and then to our second story suite. We have a fireplace and a balcony with a view of the ocean. I love it because it feels like a house, not a hotel room. We also have a GIANT Jacuzzi tub. We made a quick run to Seaside to grab some dinner (everything in cannon beach was closed) and got some gas.

our room was the top left

day 2(may 11)
This morning we actually slept in until almost 8! Well, jake did. I was up at 5.. go figure. But it was very relaxing. We're off to grab some breakfast now, toodles. Ok, back from breakfast. It was so yummy!  We went to pig'n pancake. It was super filling! After that, we headed to the beach to get some sunshine. It was kind of warm for a while, but the wind picked up so we headed back to the room. We took a looong nap which was wonderful. Then we headed to some shops in a little shopping area. We got some crazy pizza, then walked to a candy shop, where they made toffee with old fashioned machines. Jake hadn't ever seen it made, so we were both pretty excited. We bought waaaaaay too much candy. We walked around the shops for a few hours, then went back to the beach. I wore a dress and we both ended up running into the water. I went up to my waist, but jake chickened out when the water barely touched his knees. We both got pretty wet so we sat on the beach for a while and tried to dry off. It was warmer and there was less wind, so it was very relaxing. Definitely my favorite part of the weekend! We watched dogs playing in the surf, then went back to the room. We decided to go to a restaurant called the Irish Table for dinner. It was very very delicious!  Jake had steak and I had rock fish. We wanted desert but we were both SO full.
day 3(may 12)
Last day... woke up around 8 and packed everything up. I was very sad to say goodbye to our beautiful little beach hut. We went to Lazy Susan's for breakfast. We split a fiesta omelette and a gingerbread waffle with pears, lemon topping, and whipped cream. It was the most delicious thing I've ever had! We headed back to the little candy shop and bought more truffles(LOTS of truffles). We have waay too much candy. wow. Anyhoot, we left Cannon Beach around 11 and made it back to Portland around 1, after a quick stop at REI.  The weekend was amazingly relaxing and I'm so happy we went! Sigh.. back to the real world now....

honeymoon epilogue

Day 11
may 23rd-24
Goodbye Nevis! we had such a wonderful honeymoon. The trip back was LONG! On may 23 we said goodbye to the beautiful island of Nevis and headed on the ferry back to St. Kitts. Daisy picked us up on the other side and drove us to the airport. There was a HUGE rock in the road, which was super freaky. We arrived in Miami around 6pm and made it through customs pretty quick. We stayed overnight in Miami so that we could catch the only non stop flight of the day back to seattle- the only hitch was that they didn't actually book us on the right flight.. we ended up in Chicago (AUTOMATIC TOILET SEAT COVERS!!!) which I was upset about for a while.. then I remembered how much I loved Chicago because of it's automatic toilet seat covers...so suddenly everything was ok. We finally made it home around 1:30 PM our time. It was so nice to be cold! April picked us up at the airport and took us to pick up our car. We finally made it home around 6:30pm and opened our wedding presents! I couldn't wait :P. It was so fun!

Day 10

Day 10-our last full day on the island
May 22, 2012

Woke up a little bit early and had some breakfast of random foods... trying to eat up all the leftovers! Then sat around in the sun for a few hours. Swam in the pool then ate our indian food leftovers for lunch. Definitely a lazy day!
Around 3pm we headed out for our last little trip around the island. Then we came back home and swam until dark then headed to the yachtsman for dinner. We both had delicious steak and chocolate cake for dessert. Then we headed back home. It was a little sad realizing that it was our last time in town. But I think Jake is ready to be away from all the bugs. They're eating him alive!

Day 9

Day 9
May 21,2012

We woke up early and headed out to pick up a rental 4x4 at 9 am. The guy at the rental place gave us a map of a whole bunch of places to go around the island. We started off at a place called lovers beach, which is really only accessible on foot or a small 4x4. It was so beautiful! The sand was white and the waves were the prettiest I've seen yet. Then we headed down the road again and found a little road heading to the beach so we took it. We ended up on a cliff overlooking the water.. and also found a dead goat. so we left there pretty quick and headed back. Jake started driving REALLY fast and having way too much fun. We explored some more roads and went almost to the top of Mt Heaven.

We had the car for a total of 4 hours so at 1 we headed back to the rental place and dropped off the car. Then we had lunch at the yachtsman(obviously our favorite place on the island) and headed back to the bungalow. We were both super hot so we were about to go for a swim when Jake realized he'd left his ring in the bathroom at the yachtsman. He rushed back and was able to get it. Then we swam and swam for hours. I took a nap and Jake played angry birds then we went swimming again. We finally got out of the pool when the sun went down. Then we got ready and went to Indian Summer. Jake was nervous about eating indian food but I convinced him and he was a sport about it. He loved it! His was super spicy.
We headed back and tried as hard as we could to stay up late, but still ended up falling asleep around 10pm. I think the reason we go to bed so early is because the sun goes down around 6:30pm. Its ok though because we're usually up by 7:30 or 8.
